Careers Guidance
Sheffield Girls’ have used the paper-based Morrisby psychometric tests with Y10 students for many years. In 2017 the school rolled out the Morrisby Profile platform which in turn replaced the Kudos application.
Delivering the assessments to the Y10s in June 2017 was straightforward and much less arduous for the students who respond positively to carrying out online assessments in a shorter time. The simplicity of the system also allows students to complete the tests at home if they are unavailable for the scheduled date in school. The results of the assessments are received as soon as they have completed. The Aspirations and Personality assessments can be repeated as often as required as the results can change with age and have a significant influence on career choice.
“Moving to Morrisby Profile last year has been perfect on all counts and helped us attain the QiC standard.” Carole Hall, Head of Careers
The school has also used careers advisers employed by Morrisby to interview Y11 students, using their Morrisby Profile results from Y10. These advisers worked with the students to produce an online action plan exploring Post-16 and potential career choices which was then used as part of the Transition Mentoring process in Y11 and on into Sixth Form.
Providing this more cohesive CEIAG package was an action point when the school attained CareerMark accreditation in 2015. Introducing Morrisby helped achieve this swiftly and played a significant part in the award of the Quality in Careers Standard in June 2017.
