Hear from Kirsten, the Careers Adviser at Bower Park Academy about how Morrisby enables and guides meaningful career interview discussions.
Hear from Kirsten, the Careers Adviser at Bower Park Academy and for the Trust that is in charge of three secondary schools, Bower Park being one of them.
Kirsten tells us how Morrisby enables her to hold meaningful careers interviews and have personal conversations with students about their career goals and ambitions.
"I'm response full for, primarily, the one to ones, with the students, the aim is that the students have completed their more to be profiles before I see them. And obviously from my perspective, it gives me some, some information about the students that isn't just their predicted grades or their exam results.
It gives me more of an idea of the sorts of things they might be interested in.
It just means that my interventions with them can be a lot more meaningful because I've got a bit more information that helps the exploration process, really.
Some of them have been really surprised. I think it's helpful to reassure them that it's not kind of directive. It's not telling them what they're going to be in the future, that it's them to generate ideas.
It just helps them with suggestions that they've never thought about. The reality is that the world of work is continually changing. There are so many more opportunities.
And the beauty we with Morrisby is it's continually updating. So it's kind of collating all of these new jobs that they wouldn't have heard of. It enables me to upload action plans.
You know, form tutors will be writing your relevant students' references. It gives them more information to actually write about the students if they can see, what their aspirations are, the sorts of ambitions that they've got, the goals that they have.
It ticks so many of the boxes for the Gatsby Benchmarks that it's its just a very, very simple platform to use."
