Passport

Passport is a system of twelve, self-scoring interest questionnaires, designed for use in a variety of situations where work interests need to be quickly and effectively assessed.

Benefits

  • Provides an overview of employment sectors
  • Indentifies specific employment interests
  • Easy for careers practitioners and clients to use
  • Does not require special training or equipment

Applications

Passport is used by schools, F.E. colleges and careers organisations. It has also been used for pre-employment screening by a number of engineering organisations.

Materials

There are two types of questionnaire. The Stage 1 questionnaire indicates interests in eleven key employment sectors. It shows the range and type of interests within particular employment sectors.

The Stage 2 questionnaires, one for each of eleven sectors, indicate interests within that particular employment sector.

The Stage 2 Sectors

Essential Services - Leisure & Advisory - Retail & Business - Government - Finance - Building & Construction - Production & Manufacturing - Extraction & Energy - Transport - Agriculture, Fisheries & Food - Communications

Administration

Time

A stage 1 questionnaire takes 15-20 minutes to complete and score. A stage 2 questionnaire takes 10-15 minutes. Typically, a client would complete one stage 1 and two or three stage 2 questionnaires.

Age

Passport can be used with clients from 14-15 years to adult.

Scoring

All the questionnaires are self-scoring and contain detailed instructions.

Training

There are no formal training requirements, although we would recommend that users are familiar with current careers guidance practice.
