What is the MGS?

The service is designed for careers professionals who require a comprehensive psychological profile of an individual, supported by a state-of-the-art computerised report. The report, which is available from The Morrisby Organisation, has been specifically written for use in a careers guidance setting and is supplemented by a set of careers adviser's notes.

The core of the system is the Morrisby Profile (MP). This is an integrated set of twelve paper and pencil tests which assess aptitude and work based personality.

The client receives a score on each of the measures which is then presented as a profile. Although the scores allow clients to be compared with each other, the "shape" of the profile is used to show a client's own strengths and limitations, and a detailed interpretation is based on the relationship of the scores with each other.

Benefits of the MGS

The MGS provides a comprehensive assessment of aptitudes, personality and interests. Clients receive a detailed, high quality, computer generated report. A specialist two-part report is available for adult clients. Reports include details on further education, training and careers. Each report is supported by a set of careers adviser's notes.

Applications

The MGS is widely used by careers services, schools, colleges and independent careers organisations for student and adult guidance.

Materials

The MP is presented in one question book and one answer book. The Morrsiby Careers Questionnaire (MCQ) consists of a combined question and answer form, which is avilable either as a paper questionnaire, or online. Printed practice tests are also available.

Administration of the MP

Time

The total performance and administration time for the MP is a little over three hours. The paper-based MCQ, which is usually presented in a separate session or completed "at-home", takes around thirty minutes. An online version of the MCQ is also available.

Age

The MGS system is appropriate for all ages from 15 years to Adult. It is recommended that within a school setting, the service is not used before the summer term of Year 10.

Range

The MGS system is appropriate for all clients within the normal range of ability.

Scoring

The MP can be hand or bureau scored. However the MCQ, because of its advanced design, can only be bureau scored. MGS reports are only available from The Morrisby Organisation.

Materials are supplied ex-stock and orders received before 3:00pm will be despatched on the same day. Analysis and report preparations can take up to 10 working days but express services are available on request.

The MGS is available to those who hold a Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing (Level-A) and who have successfully completed an approved Morrisby Profile Accreditation course.
